Wayne Feeley

Wayne Andrew Feeley, at the age of 84, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

Wayne was born December 5, 1939, in Highgate Center, Vermont. He was born at home on the Gore Road to parents Lyman and Fern (Macey) Feeley.

He graduated from Highgate Central School (Class of 1957) and Champlain Community College in Burlington with a degree in Business Administration.

Wayne was a fourth-generation water well driller for J.A. Feeley & Sons Well Drilling. He also worked for Stewarts Shops as a manager, was the owner of Riverside Hardware in Willsboro and in later years worked for Bellevue Builders of Schenectady as a purchasing agent, Plattsburgh Building Supply, and finally retired from Adirondack Hardware Store in Willsboro. Over many years he made many friends with the many customers he assisted.

Wayne was a district officer with the Highgate Center Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge, a co-founder with his best friend Wayne Bushey of forming the Highgate Youth Hockey league, boy scout leader, member of Highgate Central School Board, member of Willsboro Kiwanis, election inspector, member on Willsboro Town Planning Board for a number of years, and longtime member and officer of the Willsboro United Methodist Church.

He will be greatly missed by his large extended family. His wife of sixty-two years, Barbara (Nason), his three sons, Scott (Kim), David (Terry), and Peter (Monica), all of whom he was extremely proud of and of course his grandchildren: Leslie, Amanda (Terry), Michael (Michelle), Corey (Becca), Kyle (Rebecca), Kenneth, Aimee (Spencer), Jaime (Philip), Wayne W., William (Stephanie) and step-grandchildren, Lindsay and Eric. His great-grandchildren: Sophie, Ella, Everett, Jax, Mason, Marissa, Emma, Carter, Aydyn, Spencer, Cooper, Julia, Jillian, Isabella, Isaac, Ilaina, Izekial, Devin, Jayde, Owen, Payden, and Easton. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Billie and Douglas West.

Wayne was predeceased by his father Lyman, his mother Fern and his younger brother Edward.

We wish to express our gratitude for the loving compassionate care provided to Wayne by his caregivers Stacey Lobdell and Sherry Lapine and the staff at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Willsboro United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. All are invited to join the family for a meal and sharing time following the service.

The family requests that any donations be made to Willsboro United Methodist Church, Alzheimer's Association, or Willsboro Fire and Rescue.

Services were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, 7521 Court St., Elizabethtown, NY 12932.
