It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter William George Booth, 77, who peacefully departed this life on Monday, October 13, 2025, at home with his son and daughter by his side. He was born on October 15, 1947, in Boston, MA to William and Stephanie Booth.
He attended Sacred Heart School for Boys in Boston until entering public school. Walter served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 152nd Med Detachment, 44th Med Brigade from 1965 to 1968. Upon returning home, like many others, he was not received with open arms. In the years to follow he had several different heavy construction jobs throughout the years but found peace and solace in becoming a migrant farm worker. Then on October 18, 1980, Walter married the love of his life, Judy Reynolds in Lincoln, VT.
Eventually, Walter ended up in Upstate New York and found his home. Although he grew up in the city, the mountains were always home. The mountains were his therapy. Walter loved to fish, watch wildlife, play Yahtzee, love his dogs and tell stories about the good 'ole days.
He is survived by his older sister, Lorraine Priestley of New Hampshire; his son Benjamin Booth and daughter-in-law Kerilyn Booth; his daughter Stephanie Booth; his grandchildren, McKenna Booth, Orion Booth, and Sophia Jackson; as well as many nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 7580 Court St., Elizabethtown, NY 12932, with a burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Essex County Veteran's Cemetery, 1205 County Route 8, Wadhams.
