Theron William Cooper, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 88, in Elizabethtown, NY. He was born on September 2, 1935, in Sharon, CT, to loving parents who instilled in him a strong sense of compassion and integrity.

Theron dedicated a significant part of his life to serving others and ensuring their safety. After proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force from August 17, 1954, to February 25, 1958, where he achieved the rank of A/2C (P), Theron found his calling as a Corrections Officer in the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He invested his time and energy at Greenhaven Prison, faithfully carrying out his duties and maintaining order within the facility.

Outside of work, Theron embraced life with enthusiasm and love for his family. He cherished his wife Ann, with whom he shared 47 beautiful years of marriage, and they were inseparable. Their love was a testament to the power of a deep and lasting connection. Theron loved his grandchildren more than anything and would often regale them with stories of his adventures, igniting their imaginations and imparting valuable life lessons.

Theron had a wide range of hobbies and interests, revealing his diverse passions and curious mind. Whether he was out fishing, tinkering with computers, engaging in a challenging game of chess, or enjoying a movie at the drive-in theater, Theron always found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was also known for his compassionate heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Theron and Ann delighted in taking road trips, exploring new places, and creating lifelong memories together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson Albert Brown, Jr., and his granddaughter Renee Julieen Houle.

Theron will be deeply missed by his wife Ann, who was his rock and partner in all of life's endeavors. He is also survived by his sister Pauline Thompson, who shared a special bond with him throughout the years. Theron will be forever remembered by his daughter Katherine Miller; his daughter Yvonne Brown and her daughter KayDee Cooper; Patricia Sabo and her children Chelsea Prater, Carly Cooper, and Lindsey Sabo. He will also be fondly remembered as well as by his daughter Pamela McKay and her children Christopher Pelkey, Taylor Patnode, and Harley Taylor. Theron's memory will be cherished by his daughter MarthaLee Proulx and her children Christopher Proulx and Neil Proulx. Furthermore, he leaves behind a legacy of great-grandchildren, including Omari Maurice Miller, Collin Pelkey, Ryan Patnode, Jace Taylor, Audrey Taylor, and Amanda Grace Taylor.

The family is grateful for the support and love they have received during this difficult time. A Memorial Service will be held on February 15, 2024, at 10:30 am at Heidrick Funeral Home, 7521 Court St., Elizabethtown, NY, where Theron will receive honors befitting his time served in the Air Force. Inurnment will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Theron's legacy of love, kindness, and commitment will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known him. May his soul find eternal peace as he reunites with his loved ones who have gone before him.
