Steve J. Micanko, Jr., 72, of the Mannix Road in Peru, passed away Saturday November 10, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Trenton, NJ on July 10, 1940 son of the late Stephen and Helen (Rusnak) Micanko. Steve served in the US Air Force from 1960-1964. He worked for the Clinton County Highway Department for several years before retiring from CommutAir in Plattsburgh. Steve is survived by one son; Michael S. Micanko, Sr. of Plattsburgh, four sisters; Theresa Gardner and her husband James of Hamilton, NJ, Mary Fox and her husband Harold of Melbourne, Fl., Frances Powell and her husband Andrew of Jacksonville, Fl., Suzanna Kohmann and her husband David of Tucson, AZ., three grandchildren; Michael Micanko, Jr., Julie Micanko, Steven Micanko. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friend Cristi Casey. Steve is predeceased by his parents and a sister Helen Ludt. According to Steve’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
