Peggy J. Sheffer, 73, of Sunset Drive in Willsboro, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday August 26, 2015 at her home. She was born in Whallonsburg on May 15, 1942 daughter of the late Harold and Florence (Sharrow) James.
Peggy enjoyed gardening, animals, outdoor activities, horse racing, county fairs, time by the lake, and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife and mother. Peggy was always there with a helping hand for people in her community. She also enjoyed dining in local eateries. Peggy was most proud of her two sons when they graduated with their Masters Degee in Education.
Peggy is survived by her husband Albert Sheffer, of 56 years, whom she married June 27, 1959 in Whallonsburg, two sons; Richard Sheffer and his wife Meg of Port Henry, James Sheffer and his wife Tammy of Port Kent, four brothers; Emerson James and his wife Doreen of Peru, Delbert James and his wife Eleanor of Milton, Vt., Lloyd James and his wife Debbie of Willsboro, Stanley James and his wife Candy of Whallonsburg, four grandchildren; Richard Sheffer, Jr., Brooke Sheffer, Miranda Sheffer and Dylan Sheffer, two great grandchildren; Keagen and Peyton Sheffer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday August 30, 2015 at the New Burt Cemetery in Whallonsburg.
Donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to the Willsboro Emergency Squad.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Marvin-Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown.
