Mildred Elizabeth (Wick) Vanderbogart, formerly of Ellenburg Center, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Clinton County Nursing Home with her loving family by her side.
Millie was born September 16, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Henry and Marie (Brown) Wick. She married Floyd Vanderbogart on February 12, 1948 and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage prior to his death in 1999.
Millie is also predeceased by her parents, lone sibling Marie Ronk and her daughter-in-law Joy.
Together Floyd and Millie raised eight children on the family farm and all eight survive her. Roy (Butch) and his companion Diane Martindale of Gansevoort, Charles and his wife Jeanne of Plattsburgh, Kathy Leary and her companion Dave Dresser of Morrisonville, Dorothy Bourey and her companion Bob Severance of Plattsburgh, Debbie of Willsboro, Floyd (Chris) and his companion Holly Conklin of Gansevoort, Sue Croney of West Chazy and Kevin of Altona. Millie is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Patrick (Jessica), Roy, Carrie Turner, Cydney, Casey Gilman, Miranda (Jamie) Major, Matthew Bourey, Aaron Bourey, Melissa Wykes, Hank MacDougal, Jimmie MacDougal, Tyler Croney and Rene. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. Committal services will be in the spring at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Heald Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clinton County Nursing Home for the care given to Millie during the past seven years.
