Madeline Pierce

Madeline B. Pierce, 89, of Route 9 in New Russia and Riverside, Missouri was welcomed home into the arms of the Lord on Friday October 25, 2013 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She was born in Clifton Springs on January 22, 1924 daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary (James) Blair. Madeline retired from Mid Continent Library in Riverside Mo. where she was a librarian. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church in Elizabethtown. Her greatest joy was sharing time with friends at bible study. Madeline has traveled extensively around the world. She relocated to the Adirondack in 1970. She enjoyed mountain climbing, fishing, family visits, dining out, sitting on the banks of the Bouquet River reading a book or writing poetry. Poetry written by Madeline has been published by the Bark Eater. She was also a member of the Audubon Society. Madeline is survived by her ex-husband William Pierce of Scotland, her two sons, Michael Pierce and his fiancé DeAnna Robertson of Latrope MO., David Boudrieau and his companion Mae Magoon of Ellenburg, a brother James F Blair and his wife Shirley of Chazy, five grandchildren, a niece Kimberly Blair Maglione and her husband Tony of Plattsburgh and one grand niece. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff of Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility, especially 2 West and Elizabethtown Community Hospital for their exceptional care during Madeline’s stay. Calling hours will be Wednesday October 30, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street Plattsburgh. A funeral Service will follow at 12:00 Noon in the


funeral home chapel with David Sullivan, Rector of Good Shepherd Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Chazy. Donations in Madeline’s memory may be made to St. John’s Feral Cat Fund or masses may be said in her memory.
