Obituary

Lisa Ann Dumar (Balko), age 64, of Schuyler Falls passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 13th, 2026, at Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital due to natural causes.

Born May 25,1962 in Bitburg Germany, she was the daughter of Shirley Balko (Farrell) and the late Frederick Balko. She traveled the world with her family throughout her father's military career until the family settled in the Northern Adirondack region in the mid 1970's. She completed her high school curriculum and graduated from Peru High School.

Lisa held several occupations throughout her life and served the community and her family and friends in many different ways. She was known for being bright and full of life and made friends/acquaintances everywhere she went. Lisa loved to travel throughout all chapters of her life, but always loved to return home to the Adirondacks. Her creative side flowed through every aspect of her life from the beautiful garden she nurtured at her home, to the amazing crafts she made. Most of all, she was known for being able to bring everyone together for a good time; whether it was a holiday or special occasion, or just a warm summer afternoon. Lisa embodied pure love for life and those around her.

She is survived by her long term partner in life, Joshua Dover; her son, Alec Dumar; her daughter, Melissa Dumar; her mother, Shirley Balko; her brother and his spouse, Jim and Margaret Balko; her brother and his spouse, John and Terri Balko; her sister and her spouse, Cindy and Richard Lamoy; her granddaughter, Willow Bushey; and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her father, Frederick Balko.

Services for Lisa will be held at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville on Friday, April 24th; any of Lisa's friends, family members or colleagues are welcome to attend. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 am-11:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Following Mass there will be a graveside burial at the Magdalena Solitude Cemetery. A reception will be held for close friends and family following the services at St. Alexanders in the reception hall.

Flowers can be sent to St. Alexander's for the day of services. Donations can be made to the Woman's Heart Alliance which focuses on further studying and educating on heart disease and failure in women.

The family thanks everyone for their love and support in this time of loss.

Services were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
