Judith Santiago

July 4, 1938 — June 19, 2024

Judith (Love) Agnes McCormack-Santiago, known by her family and friends as "Love" passed away June 19, 2024. She was surrounded by her family just as she professed. "Love is how people will know who Jesus's disciples are" (John 13:34-35). Love lived a simple yet abundant, diverse and highly favored life. "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" (Luke 1:26-28).

She was known throughout her community as an artist, prolific singer and songwriter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, mentor and loyal friend. Her greatest love was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was one of Jesus's dedicated disciples as proclaimed in the bible (John 12:26) "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."

She felt closest to God playing her music or in the wonderment of nature, the sunshine, the sky, the moon and stars, birds and animals, trees, mountains and valleys, woods, streams and rivers, a lake or ocean, in a garden or even a snowy blizzard. She found comfort, love, guidance and words of wisdom there, as Isaiah said "For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands". She often said that God is the greatest artist of all time. For everyone who knew and loved her, we take comfort in knowing her spirit, light and energy lives on in her music and all of God's creation.

Lovey enjoyed going to local nursing homes, where she offered her "classic oldies sing-along" style to the elders.

She is survived by her seven children: Timothy, Kenneth, Lisa, Lynn, Erika, Tracy and Adam. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Jamila, Aboubacar, Haley, Noah, Jaden, Benjamin, Erica, Amber, Clara, Aaron, Jesse and Dillon and her great grandchildren; Ava, Jasyn, Courtney, Jenesis, Evander, Manuel, Dylan, and Chase. Love is also survived by four beloved siblings: Bethy, Walt, Denny, and Terry.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Love at a later time and place. Condolences, cards, flowers, etc., can be sent to her home address: In care of Lynn Coffey, 44 Lawerence Way, Apt. 10, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

Arrangements were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, Elizabethtown, NY.
