Eugene "Gene" F. Cross, of Reber, NY passed away February 9, 2026. Gene was born in Reber, NY on January 12, 1947, to Friend A. Cross and Virginia E. Cross (Phillips).

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Friend Cross. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Cross; son Aaron Cross and his wife Kelly; stepdaughter, Paula Wells; sister, Barbara A. Comithier; niece, Lara Comithier; and his beloved cat, Rascal.

Gene was a proud military veteran of the US Navy, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart in Vietnam. During his lifetime he was a dairy farmer, a racehorse trainer, a care-taker to his mother, and loving father, and a beloved brother.

Burial will take place in the spring on May 6, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Essex County Veteran's Cemetery in Wadhams, NY.
