Barbara A Whittemore, 83, of Lewis, NY, passed away peacefully at the Elderwood Nursing Home in Lake Placid on Friday, July 28, 2023
Barbara was born February 20, 1940 in Elizabethtown, New York. Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert S. Whittemore, daughter Debra Whittemore Rauch, son - in -law Barry Rauch of Keeseville NY, son Jeffrey R. Whittemore of Rouses Point, NY, grandson Matthew J Rauch, wife Becky Edwards Rauch of Tucson, Arizona, granddaughter Claire A. Rauch of Plattsburgh, NY, brother Bruce Nichols, wife Molly Nichols of Saranac Lake, NY, nieces & nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Cecilia Nichols, brother John Nichols of Lewis, NY.
Barbara was an active member of the Lewis Congregational Church. Barbara was always in- volved with church activites, church suppers & the Thrift shop. Barbara enjoyed being involved in her community.
Barbara’s greatest joy in her life was raising her children and being a homemaker. She especially enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed painting, baking and family gatherings. She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed collecting and displaying angels in her home.
Arrangements have been made by the Heald Funeral Home, in Elizabethtown. There will be no calling hours. There will be a private family graveside service at the Lewis Cementry.
Donation’s in Barbara’s memory made be to the Lewis Congregational Church or the Elizabethown Lewis Ambulance squad.
